Frequently Asked Questions

Orders & Production

How long does production take?

Every Laser Forge case is made to order — production begins only after your order is confirmed and payment received. Lead time is typically a few business days, depending on current workload. If your order requires a longer wait, we will contact you by email with an updated estimate before we begin.

Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?

Because every product is built specifically for you, cancellations are not possible once production has started. If you need to make changes, please contact us at contact@laserforge.studio as soon as possible after ordering — we will do our best to accommodate you before production begins.

Do you offer VAT invoices?

Yes. During checkout, you can request a VAT invoice by ticking the I need a VAT invoice option and entering your company details. The invoice will be issued in the currency of your order.

Shipping

Where do you ship?

We currently ship across the EU and UK. Shipping to the USA is coming soon — follow us on Facebook or check back here for updates when it launches.

How will I know when my order has shipped?

You will receive an email notification with tracking information as soon as your order is dispatched.

My parcel arrived damaged — what should I do?

Please inspect your parcel upon delivery. If you notice any damage, complete a damage report with the courier on the spot, then contact us at contact@laserforge.studio with photos and your order number. We will resolve the issue promptly.

Products & Dimensions

What are the external dimensions of the cases?

CaseWidthHeightDepthModules
Scout235 mm279 mm134 mm5 (1 column)
Warden235 mm381 mm134 mm7 (1 column)
Commander458 mm381 mm134 mm14 (2 × 7)

All cases stand on rubber feet which add approximately 5 mm to the stated height. Dimensions refer to the wooden body only.

What are the external dimensions of the drawers?

All drawer types share the same external dimensions: 209 × 114 × 50 mm (width × depth × height). This uniformity is what makes the modular system work — every drawer fits every case.

What does "module" mean in terms of actual storage height?

One module provides approximately 45 mm of usable interior height. This is a planning unit for the modular system — it tells you how many slots a drawer occupies in the case, not a guarantee of what will fit inside.

In practice, miniatures and standard paint bottles will typically need more clearance than a single module provides. We recommend leaving at least one free module above any drawer used for models or paints to ensure a comfortable fit and easy access.

Use the Build your case configurator to plan your layout before ordering. If you are still unsure, feel free to contact us at contact@laserforge.studio — we are happy to help.

What is the usable magnetic surface in figure drawers?

Drawer typeMagnetic surface
Miniatures197 × 108 mm
Miniatures & Character Cards197 × 95 mm (remainder reserved for card slot)

What wood do you use?

All cases and drawers are laser-cut from plywood and hand-assembled. The material is chosen for its structural integrity, clean cut quality, and natural appearance. Minor variations in grain pattern, colour, and texture are natural characteristics of the wood — not defects.

Does the magnetic base work with all miniature bases?

The magnetic steel sheet holds any model with a ferrous base — metal washers glued under the base, or self-adhesive magnetic sheet inserts both work well. Standard 20 mm self-adhesive magnetic sheets are widely available and an easy retrofit if your models do not have magnetic bases yet.

Will the case fit in carry-on luggage?

The Scout and Warden are within the size limits of most airline carry-on policies, though we recommend checking your carrier's specific dimensions before travelling. The Commander, at 458 mm wide, may exceed carry-on limits on some airlines.

Configuration & Drawers

Can I order individual drawers without buying a case?

Absolutely. All drawer types are available to order individually from the shop. If you already own a Laser Forge case, simply order the drawers you need — they will fit straight in.

Can I add more drawers to my case later?

Yes — that is exactly what the modular system is designed for. Order individual drawers from the shop at any time and add them to your existing case as your collection grows.

How do I configure my case?

Use the Build your case configurator to select your case size and fill it with the drawer types you need. When you are happy with the configuration, add everything to the cart in one step. You can also order additional drawers separately from the shop at any time.

Customisation & Engraving

What file formats do you accept for engraving?

SVG is preferred for best results as it is a vector format that scales without loss of quality. We also accept PNG and JPG. All files are reviewed manually before production — we will contact you if any adjustments are needed.

Can you build custom drawers for specific miniature sizes?

Yes. If our standard drawer range does not cover your requirements — unusual base sizes, specific storage configurations, or game-specific solutions — we offer custom drawer design. Get in touch at contact@laserforge.studio with your requirements and we will work it out together.

Do you offer bulk orders for gaming clubs or game publishers?

Yes — we offer custom engraving and bulk orders for gaming clubs, local stores, and game publishers. Contact us at contact@laserforge.studio to discuss your project.

Care & Maintenance

How should I care for my Laser Forge case?

Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, direct sunlight, or extreme temperatures. Do not submerge in water. The wood may develop a natural patina over time — this is normal and adds character to the piece.
